What I consider important as a person is "rectitude and courage to stick to the rectitude" as embedded in the name of our firm. I feel inexperience in how deeply I can practice it. I want to improve on it.
I want to work diligently on each and every assignment and constantly improve my skills as a patent attorney to protect, to the greatest extent possible, the interests of the clients who rely on me. It gives me the greatest pleasure to deliver results and make them happy.
What I am conscious of to "win" as a patent attorney is the following Japanese saying: "Let them cut my skin, and I will cut their flesh; let them cut my flesh, and I will cut their bone". Study it thoroughly and delve into it.
When I am off work, I train by hiking up Mt. Rokko at a high pace from spring to fall. At a few really steep spots, I push myself to near my heart rate limit.
